2013 was an exceptional vintage that was so suited to the making of a fortified Vintage Shiraz. The fruit was picked at 18+ baume and fermented on the skins for several weeks until three year old brandy spirit was added to stop the ferment. It remained on skins for three months before being transferred to old oak for a further 15 months before bottling.
The bright fruit and intense colour are most attractive, and, combined with the sweet, yet fresh red fruit tastes, make this fortified so absolutely delicious that it will be hard not to have a second glass.
This vintage shiraz will continue to develop in the bottle for many, many years.

Colour: Rich blood red
Smell: Sweet spirit lifts the lush aromas of ripe plums and mulberries with a whiff of dark chocolate and raspberry pastilles.
Taste: Rich, round and opulent – this is still a chubby baby; its plumpness restrained by a swath of sweetly spiced tannins and clean aromatic spirit. The finish is warm but in no way hot, the finish long and lingering.
